Wind Gong

Product Description

The wind gong is a beautiful instrument that can produce amazing overtones. During the casting process, the gongs are a completely dark surface, then, they are turned and the black surface disappears to reveal the shiny golden surface of the gongs.

A wind gong is basically a flat gong with a slight taper around the edges. When played with padded mallets, they produce complex tonal fluctuations. When struck with drumsticks, they sound more like bells on a large bell. Our wind gongs are traditionally crafted by Chinese artisans from a bronze alloy that is approximately 80% copper and 20% tin.

Wind gongs are available in a variety of sizes, each with its own unique sound. Smaller sizes have higher pitch and less power, while larger sizes are deeper, richer, and have more power and sustain.

The Wind Gong is a great handheld gong to clear a space or celebrate the Annunciation. In larger sizes, these gongs have a lot of room for experimentation. When played with large, soft mallets, bassoon gongs provide a full range of sound for your healing space or percussion set.
